For information on creating an YoYo Account, please read this article.
External accounts can be linked on the Linked Accounts page of your YoYo Account, which can be found in the Settings sidebar menu:
This page is accessible from the following URL:
Opera Single Sign-On
You can create an Opera account, link it to your YoYo Account and then use the Opera account to log into GameMaker without having to enter your YoYo Account details. The same Opera account will also be used for any uploads to GX.games.
Follow these steps to set up your Opera account for use with GameMaker:
- Register an Opera account.
You can use your email to sign up using a password, or use one of the given social services (such as Facebook, Google, etc.) to speed up the sign up process.
- After you've created an Opera account (or already have one), go to the Linked Accounts page of your YoYo Account and select "LINK" next to Opera.
- Doing this will ask you to log into your Opera account, after which you will be taken back to the Linked Accounts page and shown the following message if your accounts were successfully linked:
You will now be able to log into GameMaker using your Opera account by clicking on "Opera Single Sign-In":
Steam
*This section is for the redemption of permanent GameMaker licences (Desktop, Web, Mobile and UWP) and is not relevant for Subscriptions.
If you have purchased GameMaker from the Steam platform, you can attach your Steam account to the YoYo Account system. This is done from the Settings - Linked Accounts tab, by clicking the highlighted button shown below:

Clicking this link will open a new window where you will be requested to sign into Steam and confirm that the account is to be linked to YoYo Games. Once you have confirmed that it can be linked, you should see the following message confirming that your Steam account is now linked:
Please note your Steam profile has to be public in order for the Steam Account to be found. (Remember to disable any web extensions that block certain pages.)
Now that you have linked your Steam install to your YoYo Account, you will see your purchased licences appear on your Products page and be able to download your stand-alone copy of GameMaker from your Downloads page.
After installing and starting the program, you will be presented with a login screen, you will need to enter your YoYo Account information and press the Log In button.
If all has gone correctly, you will now be able to use the GameMaker products you have purchased on Steam through the standalone version of the software.
